A brand new hotel opened - Comfort Inn - on Maurice Avenue in Maspeth.
Also, tons of hotels near LaGuardia Airport - Courtyard, Clarion, Wyndam, Sheraton, Ramada, Best Western ... which is right near the us open

They could always stay in NYC and take the train or subway to the US open... I think you will find the nicer hotels there.

the courtyard or the Wyndam.
If they want to say in NYC, like someone posted above, they could take the 7-train right to the US Open. The could stay at the Grand Hyatt which is right at Grand Central.
They should look on Hotels.com for some NYC deals. That would be nice because then they can easily sight see when not at the Open

I can tell you where they should not stay... the Pan American Hotel on Queens Blvd. My brother and his wife stayed there and hated it!!

The Anchor is not much of a "family" place if you know what I mean. I think that the Crowne Plaza LaGuardia and the Marriot are the 2 nicest.
