Re: 5 Vidoni in Huntington

the elementary schools and jr are good the we are in sd 13 and the hs is huntington HS but by that time I doubt we will be in the same house or will send to private school if there is gang activity. the elementary school is on the way to the village which is a mile from the house and i doubt they have gang activity there.

Huntington SD was named as one of the top 1000 districts in the country. I think it was 643. If you think about how many school districts are actually analyzed for the article, it is impressive to make the list. Gang activity is more prevenlant on LI then most people realize and every police percinct has a task force for it.

That seems like a GREAT price, I'm sure it will sell fast, if not already! Taxes are a little on the high/average side.

Taxes are a little high but I think that included village tax. Plus, out of the areas surrounding, ie Centerport, Northport, Huntington has the highest tax rate.

Anyway, that is a GREAT price for the area. Most of the houses are around or just over 400k on the low side.

I agree!!
I don't know about village taxes...I know when they list something on MLS for Northport Village they always have the reg taxes and then additional village taxes listed. But I'm not sure about Huntington - still, either way, I agree 100% with you! That is CHEAP!

Wow - that's lucky. It stinks that they will reassess the taxes for the sale. What can you do though. I wonder if the house needs a lot of work (aside from cosmetic stuff).

It is true, unfortunately. I have a good friend who taught there up until two years ago. She was telling me about the situation, I never knew Huntington was like that. She told me of 3 seperate incidents.

Unfortuanately, most school districts have this problem. You don't always hear about it though. I agree, there are some less then desirable areas in Huntington but that is true of most towns.
