How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Went for a growth sono today and baby is measuring 90%...yet only 4 weeks ago was 46%. I have 1 week before my section and concerned that I am having a HUGE baby. Just wondering from past experience how accurate they have been for other moms?

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Not very. She was always measuring small, measuring small. Had to go for all these growth sonos, NSTs and dopplers at the end.
Oh, she's so small Your belly is measuring too small. In the 20th percentiles Everything was too small
Had me in a panic.
She was born- 1 day before my due date, at 7 lbs.
Quite average and NOT too small at all.
I don't think they are very accurate at all

How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
For me not very accurate. They induced me because at my growth sonos they thought DD was going to be 10lbs. She was 7lb5oz..so for me not very accurate at all.

How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Mine were relatively accurate, but I had the opposite problem - dd was measuring small. Dd was projected to be 6.5 lbs at 40w and was born at 6 lbs 1 oz at 40w 5d.

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Not accurate - baby measured small for the first, close to 8 lbs for the one done the day before I had her, and she weighed 6-12

How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Not accurate. Both kids were measuring close to 8lbs, DD1 10 days before she was born and DD2 about 4 weeks before she was born. DD1 was 7-5 and DD2 was 7-15.

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
DS1 was measuring 7 1/2lbs at 35 weeks. The predicted a 9 1/2 -10lb baby and he was born weighing 10lb 9oz so I think it was pretty accurate. He probably just grew faster than expected in those last weeks.
DS2 measured 6lb 11oz at 36 1/2 weeks. He was born 4 days later weighing 7lb 2oz so I would say that was pretty spot on.

How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
every sono machine is calibrated slightly different so the measurement etc can be off by a week, etc.

How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Mine was off. At 36 weeks they said he was 7.5 lbs and estimated if I went on my due date he would be at least 9 lbs. I delivered on my due date and DS was 8lb 2ounces

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Reeeeeealllly off. They estimated DS to be in the 65th percentile. He was in the 99th, over 10 pounds.
If the growth sono had been accurate, they NEVER would have let me have a regular vaginal birth, but since they were estimating 8 lbs., they let me just go into labor and try to deliver. Well, the delivery didn't happen and I had to have an emergency c-section. I wish the sonos had been better; we could have just scheduled the caesarean and saved me over 20 hours of labor.

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Totally off for me both times. I was told ds was going to be 9 lbs and he was just under 8 lbs. I was also measuring big with dd and was told she could be 9.5 lb and she was 7lb 1 oz. she was 8 days early so if she was born on her due date she probably would have been around 7.5 lbs

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
My first two kids- the growth sono was accurate. My third- not accurate at all. What should have been a 7 lb baby turned into about 9 lbs. I'm still surprised I was able to push him out!

Re: How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Both were within a pound but it was harder to estimate because how big they were . Dd they said between 9 and 10 lbs she was 9.3oz da they guessed 10.14oz he was 9.15oz. I'd say fairly accurate

How accurate did your growth sono's turn out to be?
Mine was pretty accurate. They estimated DS to be over 8 lbs and he was close to 9 when he was born. But a friend of mine had her daughter estimated to be a 9 lb baby and she was born under 7lbs. I think it depends on the doctor and the machine itself.
