In the past I've used the pacifier, but today the pediatrician said to get rid of them. She suggested to have DD drink something from her sippy cup during takeoff & landing. Or she said to give her something to eat.

I posted the same quetsion before I left for Florida, and Poruss was so helpful in explaining you worry more about the descent...
That being said, I had the juice all ready, and he was fine - he didn't cry once with take off or landing....

I had very bad ears as a child and drinking or chewing gums didn't help me, but taking an antihistamine did. My mom always gave me one before a flight and it did wonders for me, but my ears also hurt the entire flight.

I either give DS something to drink or eat...usually a banana.

Dh told me that someone told him to use a bottle, but they don't drink from a bottle any more. I said sippy cups are fine. right?

Sippy cups should be fine because they'll still need to su ck! The last time I flew with DS he was still drinking out of the nuby sippy cup and it worked great!

sometimes when my son was a baby & didn't want the bottle on the plane because he was fussy & in pain........my winner was a pacifier dipped into a sugar packet. Worked like a charm. Just a little dip at a time. good luck!!!
