How can this be?! ... postpartum weight
so I gained a total of 35lbs throughout my pregnancy. 2 weeks after birth, I lost 15 lbs, 2 weeks later I lost another 10lbs... weighted myself again last week (8.5 weeks pp), I lost the last 10lbs.. so today I just weighted myself after shower, haven't eaten anything yet.. I GAINED 7lbs?!
How is that possible? 7lbs in a week? I don't even eat much, most days I am lucky if I can eat two complete meals.
What is wrong with me?

Could it be your scale?

Are you b/f? Maybe the milk is effecting your weight? Also, the hormones can have an effect.

Not eating regularly can cause you to gain weight because your metabolism slows down and you don't burn as much.
But if your scale is that old then it can also be part of the problem.

Could be possible. I gained 18 lbs during pg, lost 25 after and have since gained 10+ lbs!!! Could have been water weight you lost but the real weight is showing up on the scale now.

Similar thing has been happening to me. I am 11 days post-partum and Saturday I was down 30 lbs- out of 40 gained.. Today I am only down 22. It doesnt really make sense to me either!

Re: How can this be?! ... postpartum weight
Although this is a bit different b/c I am 20 months post partum...
But I gained a total of 37lbs when I was pregnant with DS...he was born in August of 07...by February of 2008 I had lost 40lbs...since that time I have gained it all back.
Im in the process of trying to find out what is going on. I did find out that I have Hashimotos (Hypothyroid) but Im on meds for it and shouldnt still be gaining weight...

This is the exact reason why I don't believe in scales! They make us crazy!
I generally go by how my clothes feel. If I can still fit into my clothes, I am usually happy. When I start to feel them getting a bit tighter I know it's time to do something.

this is my motto too, pre-pregnancy.. now my body is all weird (and giggly ) I want to know the numbers...
I am BF (pump mostly) but plan to wean DD in a few weeks before I turn to work. Will I loose the last couple of pounds after I stop BF?
Time to dust off the treadmill..........

Believe me, I understand the whole "giggly" thing! Honestly, I never used the scale to weigh myself after having DS. And it got to the point where people eventually started telling me they thought I was thinner after having DS than before. (I personally think everything just shifted down towards my ankles to give the effect that I looked thinner! )
BFing is going to help you. And maybe get a new scale if you are going to use one! Good luck!
