How Clean is Your House? Self Cleaning Oven
How often do you use the Self Cleaning feature on your oven?
Also, how does it look right now I we were to come over and open that door? or

Re: How Clean is Your House? Self Cleaning Oven
Mine is closer to bc I did the self cleaner recently and have been using a foil tray on the bottom rack since. We have our stove for about 2 years and it was the first time I used it. I dont make too many things that splatter in there but I couldn't get the door window clean with elbow grease so it was pretty much in need. The house got so hot and it smelled awful - hopefully bc it was the first time I used it, I had to put towels at the bottoms of my kids' doors and hid in the bedroom. It didn't bother my DH though.

Re: How Clean is Your House? Self Cleaning Oven
i hate using the self cleaner because it stinks and makes the whole, teeny tiny house very smokey. I need to use it but only on a kind of windy day when it is warm enough to keep everything open. I won't do it when am not home because I am afraid of a fire.

I usually do it about twice a year...I Don't use the oven that often so it stays relatively clean

Re: How Clean is Your House? Self Cleaning Oven
My oven is probably the only thing that IS clean in my house at the moment.
The bottom oven is spotless. I rarely use it. The top oven is a little grimy - but not bad at all. I used self cleaning about a month ago.

Re: How Clean is Your House? Self Cleaning Oven
we have the slide in oven with the vent on the top of the range i did it in the apt. building and it was burning our eyes, so we opened the windows. then we heard chatting in the hallway, i looked out the peephole and someone had called the fire drpt. so no more self cleaning it really stunk up the whole hall it wasn't really so filthy i thought it would be good to try it out!

Re: How Clean is Your House? Self Cleaning Oven
It isn't spotless but it is as clean as it will get. The previous owners left it FLITHY. It's taken me numerous times and 10 months to get it the way it does.

Ask your Dad about Dryer Fires... I hear in the US that over 15,000 dryers go up in flames. And most because we don't bother removing and vacuuming out the lint trays.
In the UK they don't have the fires like us because they use condensing dryer and spin dryers.
