We needed the crib for the new babyChat Icon

Kaitee was 18 months old. The first few weeks she slept more on the floor or her toy shelfChat Icon But after about 2 weeks she started sleeping in the bed. Now at 21 months she climbs into bed and covers herself. Most nights she goes to sleep right away. But at least once a week she will still CIOChat Icon When she was still in the crib she would cry herself to sleep evernight. I would have loved to rock her to sleep but she hasn't fallen asleep in front of us since she was 6 months old so CIO was are only option. She seems so much happier now in her big girl bed!

Our DD was very tall to begin with so as she got older she was taking up much more of her crib. The crib turned into a daybed and then a full so we started off with the daybed, which didnt do much in terms of room. Now she's in a full (wow) with one side against a wall and the other with a rail. Its worked out well, she was 2 when we put her in the full size Chat Icon

Noah was trying to climb into bed everynight, so I thought it was worth giving it a try.

To be honest, he has been in the big boy bed for like a month now, and I don't think he even noticed he wasn't in his crib anymore. He just slept through the night first time in...

Well, my DD will be 3 in September and she's still in her crib. I plan on moving her around her b-day since she seems perfectly happy where she is.

Re: how did you know when your child was ready for

My older son was 1 month shy of turning 3.

We wanted to transition him before his younger brother was born, 5 months later. I wanted him to be comfortable in his new bed before I gave it to the "new baby".

With my younger one, I'm holding out as long as possible. He's a GREAT sleeper. NEVER cried. LOVES his crib. Has NEVER tried to climb out of it. He'll be 3 next month. Why press my luck?
