How did you know you felt the "flutters"?

I'm 15 weeks, and I think I felt the baby but I'm not sure. I had some little twinges in my belly. I know everyone feels and describes those early movements differently, but I'm curious--did anyone feel a quick twinge in the belly? I want to believe that its the baby moving!!!!!

I never had flutters. I felt my first movements at 16 weeks. It felt more like little "taps" against my abdomen. It was very intermittent at first -- by 18 weeks it was more regular and now at 25 weeks I feel him allllll day long! Enjoy those pitter patters, its the best thing ever.

I didn't know they were even flutters until they became stronger and more regular. And in fairness, I don't think I had many flutters, he went to full blown bumping and jumping by 20-22 weeks.

In the beginning, it felt like gas bubbles and it was like "was that it, I don't know - maybe it was, hmm... let's try to feel it again..."
It's hard to decipher in the beginning, but if it feels out of the ordinary, it most likely is your little bean.

I occasionally feel flutters - usually when I'm lying on my belly or wearing something tight - but if I'm wearing somethign cozy, I don't feel much at this point - I'm almost 17 wks....

Every night when I lay down to go to sleep I feel flutters. It feels like light taps in my stomach, almost like a heartbeat, it seems each week they are getting stronger.

I remember withmy first, it almost felt like I was being tickled from the inside [yet another interpretation!]. I wasn't sure for a while if it was the baby or my imagination wanting to feel the baby...so I laid down on the couch one night as I couldnt' take it any longer and just STARED at my belly. I paid close attention to when I felt the "tickle" and voila! when I felt it, my belly would move, just a tad. I was thrilled to know I wasn't crazy!Chat Icon I felt them pretty early...but I am ultra sensitive to my body's changes.

Yeah! I was looking for a due date twin! You will start to feel it soon. I am VERY in tune with my body and all the feelings I have because I have Endometriosis and have always had weird cramps and feelings in that area that I had to watch out for. So I felt it much earlier than most people.

Glad to have a "twin" here!!! Like I said, I kind of think I've been feeling it, but like someone said above, it comes and goes so quickly that I'm like, wait, was it? could it be? do that again!!! (of course the baby doesn't listen to me!!!!) Hopefully as time goes on, it will become easier to detect!
