Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
I am planning on doing WW. You can do it if you are BFing - there are different points values that you can follow for nursing moms.
I am about 34 weeks and have gained 10lbs. I have this fantasy that I can lose 50 after the baby! It's very nice here living in dreamworld! Anyone what to join me?

I was going to suggest this.
I did the meetings. We have a Weight Watchers at work meeting every Wednesday.
Diana - I'm sure you could find a group around you with moms so your "me" time can be with the baby.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
Diana, I have 12pds to go and that is to reach my pre preggo weight. The hardest 12pds EVER! I admit Im not doing TOO much to get it off......hoping it will just gradually come off.

i guess i was pretty lucky i lost most of the baby weight after the baby was born on its own and then i just took lots of walks with the baby and tried to eat a little healthy and it worked..but i def owe it all to the long walks with dd.
Same here. I lost a total of 21lbs so far and DD is 3 weeks old. I plan to lose more, but will do that once I go back to the gym.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
Diana.. Do the points.. and eat UNDER the points to lose faster.. Also water water water and have the zero point snacks to fill you up....
I lost 22 lbs before I got PG so I was really thin before being PG.... I wore a nice tiny bikini in miami in march.. I am only up 8lbs so far at 22.5weeks PG..
as soon as I deliver and start to feel ok, I am going to do hard core WW and then add heavy cardio.. You need to burn the fat and lower your caloriic intake to lose the weight.. Then once you are at your ideal weigh you just need to maintain and then lift the weights to create muscle.. Remember your muslce has memory so you should have no issues with that once the inital layer of fat is off..
Good luck mamma

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
I only weighed myself twice after I delivered DS. I was stressing so much over it, that I made a promise to myself that I would not weigh myself again. The weight started to come off and little by little I lost it. Is my body the same as it was pre-prego,,Noooooo and I am okay with that... I even had enough guts to wear a bikini to the beach this summer

While I admire your determination- if you plan on BFing- going under points and working out hardcore WILL negatively affect your milk supply. There's a reason you are allotted a certain number of points as a BFing mother- to achieve healthy weight loss while preserving your milk supply....
I'm back on WW (as a BFing mother) and I try to eat all 34 points a day (I don't eat my FLEX points though). I have lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks and still maintain a great milk supply.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
At 7 months PP, I joined weight watchers and stepped up my work outs. I went to the meetings in person and I lost 16 pounds in 10 weeks, which was exactly pre-preg weight. I found it extremely motivating to know that I had to go and be weighed in (in person!) and I loved hearing all the success stories of the people in my group.
I havent been back to weight watchers since end of june but have been sticking with the points during the week and exercising and I kept the weight off.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
I gained 40 lbs with DS and was 10 lbs over my desired weight when I got pg. I lost 20 lbs right after I had him and at 8 wks post delivery, my doc gave me the okay to resume workouts (I'm now 9 1/2 wks post delivery). I do heavy cardio on my treadmill, go for long walks with DS every day, do weight training and watch what I eat. I'm basically following WW (lost 40 lbs before I got married doing the plan) and I am trying NOT to weight myself. I'm letting my clothing be my guideline. When I get back to a size 6 or 8, I'll be happy. I think the key is realizing it took 9 mos to put the weight on and it may take that long for it to come off. It's VERY frustrating and I get so disgusted with myself at times but then I just do something active and it helps to get me back on track.
You'll get there! We're all here with you.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
9 1/2 months later, and I didn't. I joined WW to help me get off the additional 15lbs, but I still have more to loose to be at a nice weight, since I was overweight when I got preggo.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
I was really lucky. I only gained 18 lbs during my pregnancy. After I delivered I was only a couple of lbs. up. I put my little guy in a sling and walked up and down this huge staircase near my apartment. on days that it was too hot I did The Firm workout while DS napped. Now, I am 13 weeks PP and I am down 5 from my pre-pregnancy weight.

Re: How did you lose the baby weight?
Nothing really happened until I started working out again. I mean REALLY work out. I go to kickboxing 3 times a week, and after 2 weeks, I see a MAJOR difference in my body already!!!!
ETA - I gained 40 lbs, lost 20 immediately. The last 20 is hanging on, but since starting kickboxing I lost another 5 lbs!!!

totally agree with this. even if you aren't BFing and are doing the regular WW plan, the recommended points total is recommended for a reason - your body needs the calories to function. eat fewer points than that and you will be starving your body and will end up actually losing valuable muscle tissue. it's not healthy.
so far, at almost 33 weeks i have gained 16 pounds. so i could have very little to lose, or i could gain a bunch in the next 7 weeks, who knows? regardless, i'll be back to running postpartum as soon as i get the ok from the doc. i don't expect my diet to change much, because both 3rd tri preggos and BF moms need about 500 calories more per day than they would non-preggo/BF.
