How did you pick your travel system/car seat/infant carrier?
I read an article in Pregnancy magazine about car seats and travel systems and carriers and it left me even more confused than before I read it.
How did you pick???? Do all of these come together as one "travel system"? I'M SO CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i went to the store and played with them. i actually pushed them, folded them down and up and then picked them when folded down like i was putting it in my car. then i went with the one was easiest for me.

I read user reviews on BRU.com and also checked out baby bargains.

I'll definitley do that.
But I'm confused about what comes with what. Does the car seat snap into the stroller and then it can also be a carrier? Are they three separate things?

The car seat snaps into the base in the back of your car- then it can snap into either a snap -n- go- which is just the frame- or a regular stroller- which is what they call a travel system.

Re: How did you pick your travel system/car seat/infant carrier?
Go get the Baby Bargains book! It explains all the different types of car seats/strollers/travel systems out there.
And then haul your butt to the store and play with them.
And lastly, ask BTDT moms for their advice!
We have the Graco Snugride car seat, a Snap & Go, the Peg Perego P3, and a Maclaren Volo.
The travel systems seemed really bulky and heavy to me.

Re: How did you pick your travel system/car seat/infant carrier?
I used the Baby Bargains book and Consumer Reports which is how I chose the Chicco KeyFit 30.
I didn't register for a travel system. I just registered for the Snap-n-Go and another Maclaren stroller.

we actually havent purchased a second stroller yet, just going with the snap and go for now. will invest in a stroller once DS is bigger and we have a better idea of what our needs will be

Re: How did you pick your travel system/car seat/infant carrier?
I'm going to get a Graco car seat with Snap & Go. Should be good for about 8 months.
For a second stroller, I'm going with the city mini because I like the 3 wheels & I can't figure out how to fold the rest of them. I would get the 3 wheel Peg Perego (it's a lot lighter)... but it's been broken in every store I've ever seen.

Re: How did you pick your travel system/car seat/infant carrier?
I used Baby Bargains and the advice of BTDT mommies to make my decision.
Most people I knew ditched the travel system stroller as soon as the baby was out of the infant seat (they used it more as a Snap and Go than a stroller) and then went and bought an expensive lightweight stroller.
That being said, we registered for a Graco Snugride, a Snap and Go and a Maclaren Quest. I'm very happy with my decision.
