How did you share the news with family & friends?
Any cute ideas for announcing multiples?
Our parents know we are expecting, but we are hoping to keep the multiples secret until the end of the first trimester.

I know this is so dumb, but I sent a picture of a box of twinkies to my mom and sis. It took them a few minutes to figure it out!

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
i wanted to do something really cute to announce my pregnancy and multiples, but i was too excited i just told everyone ..
however, i made up for it when i found out the gender because originally i was team green and my family was just dying to know.. so they had no idea i did end up finding out so i gave them a gift and i said it was just a "thank you" for all they have done.. and inside was 2 boy bibs that said thank heaven for little boys, and 2 little footballs. my sister picked up on it right away, but my mom took a few min to grasp it

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
Most people I just blurted it out! We were so excited!
But with some I just showed them the sono and they would look it at and say congrats and then I would ask how many they see and they would be like "what?!?!?"
With my gma I asked her how many great grandchildren she had..she said 3...so I said well now you are going to have 5. It took her a second but she got it!
have fun!

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
I too told my family was I pregnant (around 9 weeks bc I was showing and very sick, it was obvious) but left out the part about it being twins. ONly my sister and brother knew it was twins early on. My aunt and cousin were babysitting Landon (older DS) when we went for my 12 week sono. We came home and showed them the pics and it took a looong time for them to figure it out. My cousin was like "I never know what I'm looking at. This one kinda looks like twins. OMG is it twins?" And then they got on the phone calling my uncle and other cousins, and it spread that way though my family. We went and showed DH's parents the pics too, DH is a twin himself so he said something clever, I forgot what.

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
Couldn't really come up with a fun way due to the circumstance.
At 6 weeks 5 days I was told my pregnancy wasn't viable. They had only seen a gestational sac and no HB. So my inlaws watched my DS for me while my mom and I went to my D&C.
At my D&C (7w) they did a sono first to confirm there was no change. Which is when they found 2 very healthy heartbeats. My mom found out when I walked out 10 minutes later saying the procedure wasn't done.
When I went back to my inalws to get my DS (2 hours early) they just knew something was up so I told them.
Then the news spread like wildfire.

I didnt have a fun annoucement...since I was in SHOCK!
8wk sono-
I did it while still in the sono room in stirrups, calling my husband and then breaking the news to my mom and sister, inlaws, etc.
It was full of tears for me!

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
I reallllly wanted to wait till 12 weeks, but I want to tell my family on St. Pat's and I will be 2 days shy of 11 weeks.
St. Pat's Day is HUGE for my family, NO ONE ever goes to school or work on that day and we always have a big family dinner after going to the parade.
This year at dinner we plan to dress Jack (our dog, which we are obsessed with ) in a T-shirt that says "I'm going to be a Big Brother X2" and just let him run out. I know everyone WILL be going NUTSO and I CAN'T WAIT

What cute stories!!!!!
I'm still working on ideas. I promise to update after we announce.
I really wish we could tell everyone on April Fools Day but the timing is too soon. We'd really like to wait until 12 weeks to announce and I'll only be 10 weeks then.

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
i was in total shock and we hadn't told anyone we were pregnant yet bc i had a miscarriage a couple of years back. in fact i miscarried the day after thanksgiving and we had told everyone we were expecting on thanksgiving. so this time around we were going to wait til i was past my first trimester. the day we found out it was twins, we were just in awe. we brought the sono pic with us and they first would look and would say congrats. we had to tell them to look closer and see how many there were!!! everyone was super excited!!!!!

Re: How did you share the news with family & friends?
While I am completely in love with my girls, when I found out it was twins I did not react well at all. My momwas in the room with me and we both said OH MY GOD when the dr told me. My mom didn't even want me to drive home because I was as white as a sheet. When I called DH he thought I had miscarried because my voice was so shaky. Dh told his family and I called my sister and aunt.
At 12 weeks, after getting good results with the nuchal, etc, we told our extended families at christmas. By then I was still freaking out, but was very happy.
Now that they are here (9 months old) I can't imagine my family without them, they are perfect.
