How did you tell your family you were pregnant?

We haven't told our families that we are pregnant with our second child yet. I'm curious how you ladies announced your pregnancies. Please share!

Ours wasn't very unique at all... we wanted to wait till afte the first doctors appt, but as soon as DH saw anyone, he would text me from across the room beggin if we could share the news. Sure enough, we did LOL. Just sorta blabbed it out...

For #2 we told our parents that DD made them a picture and had her hand them a sign that said she would be a big sister in May 2010. It took them a second to get it but they loved it.

I was 9 weeks pregnant by mothers day so me and dh put a pic of our 8 week sono in a mothers day card and i wrote a little something like "this should really be a grandmothers card" yadda yadda yadda

we had just got back from vacation. I made an imovie with photos from the vacation it was kind of cheesy...it went kind of like this

and Sean (pic of DH)
= Love (pic of both of us)
then just the word AND
a baby!
Jenn is pregnant was over the pic of the pos. pregnancy tests. we showed it to my parents, brother and sister and their reaction was complete shock.

we went to NY to see my parents for a visit and it happened to be my mom's birthday weekend and father's day. SO I bought my mom a purse for her birthday and when she opened it, I told her to look inside because "I think I left the receipt in there" and instead she pulled out another wrapped gift which was a "What happens at Grandma's Stays at Grandma's" bib. At the same time my dad opened his gift which was a ultrasound frame which the 8 week ultrasound picture in it.

my mom was shocked, my dad didn't get it at first. Then they were both thrilled!

for the first pregancy with my parents we were talking about something house related and i kinda just said something along the lines of "well we will now have a baby in the house...." it COMPLETELY went over their heads... i then asked my mother for the family history chart and when she asked why i told her i had my first ob appointment.. still they didnt get it... so we left and went on to tell my fil.. as we are standing in the bar talking tohim my own father called and asked if we just told them we were pregnant... that was 3 hours later..


second time around we didnt intend on telling anyone right away but then i was visiting my parents and they started booking a 21 day cruise to tahiti and bora bora so i ha dto tell them so that they wouldnt be away for the month i was due... my in-laws we told over dinner

We told my mom on Thanksgiving morning over the phone since she lives in South Carolina.

We didn't tell DH's family but I had ornaments on our Christmas tree that said things like "Wendy has a bun in the oven", "Special Delivery July 2009", "Tim's going to be a daddy" and hung an extra stocking up with no name on it ... funny thing is, no one really noticed until I said something to one of my SIL's that I was so disappointed that she hadn't discovered the "surprise" ...

I haven't yet... but we'll be going home for Christmas and at that point I will have finally had my first ultrasound. So I'm hoping to be able to surprise them on Christmas or Christmas Eve
