How did your DD react when getting her ears pierced?
I don't plan to do this just yet, but I'm DREADING it! I've already been told I shouldn't be there with her because I won't be able to take it, but I want to be there, to try and comfort her in some way..if I can.
How did your DD react and did they do both ears at the same time, or one at a time?
Are they in any type of pain after?
TIA!

Hayley was great! They did both at the same time, she cried a few seconds, we gave her the binky and she was fine. She never pulled on them while they were healing and she let me clean them. She was 6 months old at the time.

Re: How did your DD react when getting her ears pierced?
I got my DD's ears done the same day as her 2 month shots. She had a fever that night but I am sure it was the shots. I had DH hold her while I took pictures. She started crying when they were marking where the holes would go. She was tired and grumy anyway. They did one ear at a time. I gave her a bottle right after and she forgot all about it. To this day she has yet to have a problem with them and she still lets me clean they without fighting. I think she is just use to them being there and me cleaning them since its been almost a year since she got them. She reacted way worse to her shots.
I forgot to add she never seems in pain by them. She didn't fuss or anything when I would clean them.

Re: How did your DD react when getting her ears pierced?
she cried...for like two minutes... and then passed out sleeping. It was tough, but we had to repierce one of her holes when it closed and she cried for like a minute. First time was 8 months. Seconds was 16 months.
I would have maybe done it a little earlier, like 6 months. My SIL's ped did them for her, but we went to Claires and it was just fine.

We took Julia at 3 months, they did one ear at a time, she did cry but only for a few seconds each ear, once we got her into the car she was fine! It is harder on us then it is for them.
You will be fine, its so quick!

I don't have a DD but I did take my niece to get hers done. She cried for like 2 or 3 minutes afterwards and then was over it.
My sister signed the papers, told them that I was going to sit with the baby and then took a walk because she didn't want to see it.

Re: How did your DD react when getting her ears pierced?
My DD got hers pierced this past Sunday. She cried for about a minute or so and it was done. She got them pierced one at a time. The lady was very very nice. She was recommended by my DD pediatrician. If you need a recommendation, FM me, she lives in Far Rockaway...very sweet woman.

Re: How did your DD react when getting her ears pierced?
This is a hard question for me to answer. I think it would have been better if she didnt rub her eye and scratch it right before her ears were pierced. She was wailing from hurting her eye and then 2 mintues later teh doctor and nurse held her down and poked holes in her ear.
Make a long story short - she cried like she never did before. But once it was all done, every was fine. I did her ears at like 4 months.

We did my DD's ears at 10 months. We were at the ped for a shot anyway so she was already crying. She's a big crier so I knew what to expect. She cried for like 5 minutes but we never had a problem after that.

Oh wow...thanks ladies. I can only hope that DD will not cry for too long, but somehow I feel she will. If not...then it will be me.

Re: How did your DD react when getting her ears pierced?
honestly....I got myself all upset thinking about how bad it was going to be...
she cried for like 20 sec. with the first ear....2 min. or so after the 2nd ear..and that was it. No big deal.
Good luck...its not that bad!
