How do I change over a contract phone to another phone via Verizon?
I think I asked this before but,
If you have a contract phone and decide to buy a different phone (from ebay, or any other online store not necessarily through verizon) can you just switch over your plan to the new phone?
Also,
If thats possible, how do I do it? Do I just call the company or is there a SIM card or something that I just have to switch over to the new phone. TIA

If they work anything like Sprint, you just have to call up and tell them you want to change the phone on your account and you have the phone you want to switch to. They will probably ask you to read them some numbers off the back of the phone under the battery to get it activated.
Verizon uses CDMA technology, so there are no SIM cards.
Just be very careful buying phones off places like eBay or Craigs List. People sometimes sell phones that are reported lost or stolen... then when you get them the companies won't let you activate them.

Yes its called an ESN change... but your warranty if you had one doesnt apply to the new phone... it wont extent your contract....
ETA: yes like pp said, make sure the ESN is clean...
If you have an online account set up you can do it that way or call 800-922-0204 and tell them you want to do an ESN change..
