How do I get DD's long stretch of night sleep to be later?
DD is 6 weeks old today and for the past week her stretch of sleep at night has gotten longer and she will go 7 hrs!!! But I feed her about 8pm, then she sleeps and is good until 3am (which is amazing). Then she is up again at 5:30, then 7:30 and we start the daytime feeding every 2 hrs (I am EBF).....how do I get her to make this stretch of sleep start at 10 or 11pm as opposed to 8pm??? Once she eats at 8pm, she is usually u for about an hour to an hour and a half and then falls asleep until she wants to eat again around 3am.....i am so thrilled that she can go so ling between feedings, but how do i get that last feeding to be later??

You can try a dream feed around 10-11pm. I am actually going to try this tonight with my DC to see if I can get them to sleep a few more hours. My DD sleeps the same as yours, if I could get her to sleep until 6 or 7 it would be wonderful. DS usually gets up around 12:30-1, so if I could push him to 3 or 4, I could get maybe 6 hrs of consecutive sleep! (DH will be doing the dream feed with expressed BM)

I think it is just a waiting game. I had the same thing with dd and she would wake up at the WORST times and I wouldnt be able to fall back asleep after like 3 am cause she would be up every hour or so. That lasted two weeks and then she started getting up at 4, eating and sleeping till 8 and then another 2 weeks and she starting sleeping through from 9-6

Re: How do I get DD's long stretch of night sleep to be later?
Hum...DD is the same as yours, will eat at 8pm and is up at 2:30am on the nose to be fed (EBF). I would prefer to push the 2:30 time to later, rather than the 8pm time to later...so soon (when she gains a few more lbs) I'm going to to start giving her the binky when she wakes and see if she'll fall back to sleep for a few mins or 1/2 hr, etc, to push her. This is what I did w/DS at 3mos...I kept giving him the binky a few nights in a row and eventually he slept thru the night.
As far as pushing the 8pm thing back, I dont see how it would be possible if DD is hungry at that time and then very sleepy after. You could try waking her at 10pm like to "top her off" and see what happens. Typically as she gets older her bedtime would most likely be around 7 or 8pm so I'd try to keep that time and push the feeding after that to later and later. But, I personally wouldn't try to alter anything they do until they are 3mos or around 12/13lbs. JMO!
