How do i get him to sleep through the night.. not in my arms
DS goes in at 7ish stays asleep until about 230 and then only will sleep in my arms well really on my chest. he is still tired bc he is yawning and he will go back to sleep for a few minutes with me patting him and shhhh ing him but then he wakes up again. he is not screaming more whining but i am afraid it will turn in to sceaming and i have a another child in the room next to his. He sleeps on his stomach and manages to wiggle his way up to the corner of the crib and gets stuck i think its partially why he is waking the other part i think is habit. he used to get a feeding about 230 but hasnt for a loong time but yet still wakes about that time. I would like to get this settled by the suimmers end as i have to go back to work. TIA

Would you consider giving him the bottle at that time? Maybe a test...if he drains it then I would say he still needs it...if he only takes an ounce or two then he clearly doesn't need it. Maybe a noise machine would help?

Do you swaddle? Have you tried the miracle blanket?

When DS woke us because he creeped into the corner, I would pull him back to the middle and rub his back until he fell asleep. I also have used the Rainforest crib soother thing and that worked as well.

Re: How do i get him to sleep through the night.. not in my arms
when he wakes, i'd wait and see if he'll go back to sleep on his own if he's not screaming and crying. also i think if you put the mobile on it might be more stimulating than helping to get him back to sleep. DD used to wake and just fuss a litle bit, but i wouldn't get her unless she was really crying. she stopped waking and has been sleeping through the night for over a month now.

It might be worth letting it go one night though - just to see what happens. I had been responding pretty quickly to Ryan when he did this - I'd go in and feed him pretty much immediately. The last 2 nights I decided to let it go for more than 2 minutes and he has been just whining and going back to sleep in under 10-minutes.
Does he take a paci? You might also try giving him that and shushing him - this always helped Ryan but then I decided I didn't want to have to do it every night - so it's def. worth only trying what you can keep up with.

I did this too, after I dropped the 3am feeding and he got himself back to sleep after a few minutes. After a few days, he was sleeping through the night.
If your daughter is a deep sleeper, she may not even hear him.
