How do I keep a 14 month old occupied on a 6 hour flight?

I'm flying to the West coast with DD next month and don't know what to take on the plane to keep her busy. Any ideas or other tips? She will be 14 months old.

When I fly with Noah I always bring Crayons and a Notebook, I play with him in my lap, I let him run around the aisle on the plane, we ate lunch...he liked to look at the other people, and I brought some toys with me. I don't think he would be interested in a DVD, but thats just him.

portable DVD player...

Absolutely! Our son has traveled several times (he was around 8 months and 10 months)...the portable DVD player was fantastic! He watched several Baby Einstien's, and then passed out. He's done this for every flight.

All the passengers around us said that the DVD player was genius, and they wish they had them when their kids were young.

Good luck!
