How do I teach my 3 year old to blow her nose?

DD has a runny nose and I have no idea how to get her to blow it! Any tips??

Would it help if you hold one nostril shut while she blows? Might make it easier. Never underestimate the boogie sucker.

I have been teaching my DD how to blow her nose this week. She is younger (23 months) but has been able to get it, so I hope this helps. What I've been doing is this: I put a tissue to her nose and say to her, "blow," and at the same time, I blow my nose to show her. Since I don't have a runny nose, only the "blowing" sound comes out, but it helps to give her the idea of what "blow" means. After she got it, and started to blow, then I would alternate closing one nostril at a time so the mucus would come out. Her blows aren't strong but she's doing well! Keep at it! HTH!
