how do u match eggshell paint? help please
most of my house was painted an eggshell color when I moved in but i have no idea what brand/exact shade it is and i have no way of getting in touch w/the seller (who I'm sure wouldn't know anyway.)
now i want to paint an accent wall the same eggshell color so the room is uniform but how do i go about matching it up with the rest of the room? repainting the entire room isn't an option b/c of a really irregular shape.
TIA for any advice!

I know it's a PITA but I would really repaint the entire room.
You don't know how old the paint is on the wall. Trust me, if you paint one wall, you will be amazed at how dirty the other walls can look. My DH's EX did that in their house and well... yuck... it drove me nuts so right after we got engaged, I repainted the room...lol.
Plus, a paint store will tell you, that even if you know the paint color, it will never match 100%. When using several gallons of colored paint in a large room the proper technique is to mix all of the gallons together in a larger bucket so all of the color is 100% uniform.
It's like ordering bridesmaid dresses at different times. the manufacturer will tell you they can't guarantee against variations in the color. Better to wait and order all at the same time, off the same bolt of fabric, to guarantee uniformity... best analogy I can think of.

I'm with Tah-wee-ZAH for all the reasons she stated.
Your best best is to repaint the room in a similar color.

Take the chip to homedepot and they will match the color. I have done it and it will compensate for the dirtiness of the other walls.
