How do you clean hardwood floors?
How do you clean hardwood floors? I have hardwood with a polyurithane finsh. I don't want them to lose their shine.

I Swiffer a few times a week and mop them every other weekend with warm water and white vinegar.
The mop is barely wet when I use it - and the floors sparkle when I'm done!

one word of caution....
mom had an issue with some wood floor duster... I don't know if it was a wet swiffer for wood? At any rate, it left a white hazy residue....
so, for any polish/ cleaner, do a test area before using it on the entire floor

I decided to try furniture polish WHY? I thought it would make them shiny it did but it was a skating rink afterwards!!!! HAHAA

I use the dry swiffer right after i vaccuum to get my hair and pet hair then i use some vinegar and water to wash with just a damp mop not saturated

Yep - just a dry Swiffer for me too. I've heard horror stories of people using the Swiffer wet jet for wood floors.

I just spent last week getting paint off my wood floors after the painters left.....Good Housekeeping recommended Orangeglo Hardwood Cleaner and a putty knife to get the paint off.....it worked for me....but get knee pads if you have a lot of paint to get off! good luck

I use Swiffer Dry and then I use Bruce Hardwood floor cleaner and a terry cloth flat mop.

vinegar & COLD water-this is how I clean mine-gets them clean&keeps the shine better than any commercial cleaner!

Vinegar & water OR
Method brand "Wood for Good" almond scent floor cleaner.
It smells so good!
No wax, residue or build up.
