Re: How do you clean your bottles?

For the first two months, I was cleaning them with soap and water and then sterilizing them in the microwave daily. Then I read that washing them in hot soapy water was fine. I still sterilize them once a week. Sometimes I put them in the dishwasher on the top rack.

That's how I feel.... I end up washing them by hand bc I thought it was ridiculous to run the dishwasher for 4 bottles, a bowl and two spoons.

If I run the dishwasher and remember to load them in - I do it that way. I don't run my dishwasher very orten though.

But for the most part - soap and very warm water.

I boiled them for the first week, then hot water and dish soap.

If I am runnning the DW, which is only every couple of days, I will put the bottles/sippy's in for an extra cleaning but the cost is not the issue for me I don't want to waste water.

I used to wash them by hand (hot water and soap) but now I put them in the dishwasher. We have enough bottles and nipples to last 3 days, so I load it up over 2 days and run it every other night. Between the bottles and our dishes we always have a full load.

Same here. Believe it or not, I only have 2 bottles and I just wash them a couple times a day. Why I never invested in more, I don't know. But I brought some to my mom's and left them there and never bought any more.

according to my Pediatrician No! He laughed at me when I did it when she was six months! he told me " your nuts!" and laughed and said the dishwasher was enough.

Ok ...maybe I'm a little neurotic but I wash them with hot soapy water and then sterilize them....Everyday!!!...Am I the only one who does this....I thought you were supposed to sterilize the bottles before you could use them again.

Soap and Water. With twins, we go through 12 bottles a day, so sometimes corners have to be cut.

I thought you had to do it that way also.... My mom told me I needed to do it at least for the 1st year, then I read online and in books that hot soapy water is sufficient. My mom nearly freaked when I told her I don't sterilize them daily anymore. I still do it once a week though.

I used to wash them by hand in hot soapy water. I sterilized for the first couple of weeks.

Now they go in the dishwasher. I still only need to run it every other day which is the norm for us anyway.

I do the same thing and Jake will be 1 next week. It really doesn't take me long to do it, so I really don't mind.

Re: How do you clean your bottles?

When I would take them out of the package I would sterilize them then after that I would wash them in hot soapy water and once a month I would sterilize them in boiling water

not that she is 14 months I and on sippy cups I wash the sippy cups before she can use them

Re: How do you clean your bottles?

We don't have a dishwasher also -- so I was them with soap and hot water every day -- and steam sterilize them in the microwave thing about 2-3 times a week. I asked the pediatritian about this and she said that is absolutely FINE!
