How do you dress your toddler boys for formal weddings?
My 4yo son will be the ring bearer for a wedding that DH is in. They will both be wearing tuxes.
Do you think it is necessary to get my 2yo a tux too?
The wedding is black tie. There will be very few children at the actual wedding.

My 2 year old was ring bearer in my BFF's wedding 2 weeks ago. I rented him a tux, my friend never asked me to, but I thought it was nice that he matched the groomsmen.

Would you have gotten him a tux if he wasn't the ring bearer?
I think it would be cute to all get dressed up. they aren't going to be wearing tuxes anytime again soon.

For a black tie wedding, I may have, even if he wasn't in the wedding party. But this wedding wasn't black tie, and no kids at the reception. DS & the flower girl were both picked up by sitters after they were announced into the reception. If it was black tie, and he were staying the entire night, than probably. I say go for it if you want to. DS looked ADORABLE in his tux, and it was only $50 at Men's Warehouse.

Re: How do you dress your toddler boys for formal weddings?
My twins will be ring bearers in a wedding next month (2 years old) and I just bought these tuxedos for them online.
I'm expecting them to arrive tomorrow and I can let you know how the quality is.
Everywhere I called said a tux for a 2 year old was around $70 - $80.
I was not going to pay $140 for something they'll wear 1x for a few hours.

If he was a ring bearer, yes. If not , no. I would get dress pants, dress shirt and a tie. My DH doesn't even rent a tux for black tie weddings, he wears a suit.
When ds was a ring bearer he was in a tux but half way thru the reception i put his pjs on.
