How do you feel about Old Navy?

Their summer stuff looks cute, but I remember 10 years ago their quality was awful. Has it gotten better? Do you find that your stuff from there holds up well? Or do you need to throw it away each season?

I love the summer items...and I just got the gorgeous messenger leather bag for like $58 and it's so soft and gorgeous. I always buy the summer skirts (cotton ones), flips, and Ts. I feel like the quality has also gotten better.

i buy stuff from old navy but i do it knowing the quality is not the best! but it's cheap enough to have for a season and not cry about it if the fabric starts to ball up or whatever.

Its a hit or miss...they have some adorable stuff at times so you really get a bang for your buck...and at that price I really don't mind if it lasts a couple of months.

Re: How do you feel about Old Navy?

It's not high end quality, but it's not cheap eaither. I think the price's are very good. TBH I would spend up to $50 for the jeans that are always on sale for $20. I love the summer clothes and I love the winter clothes. The only problem I have is the sizing. Sometimes you take an x-large and others you take a medium(as far as tops) I love the clothes and suggest getting items that are trendy and some that will last. I keep clothing from here season after season, but if I want to try a trend I do it here also because it is cheaper then many other stores

It's a hit and miss for me. The stuff that I did buy lasted at least 2-3 seasons so I would not say it's bad quality.

Re: How do you feel about Old Navy?

I like Old Navy for basics, tanks (make great shirts to sleep in after they have worn out), pj bottoms, tees, polos and skirts...oh yeah..flip flops. I really like their cami's. Their jeans fit me well...the length is great for me. I don't expect to get anything there that is for work or church....but for hanging out it is great.

Edited to add.....kids clothes..GREAT....since they only last one season, usually, my kids out grow them before they wear the clothes out.

Re: How do you feel about Old Navy?

good for some stuff- poor for others

the long tank tops are great

(a few years back the regular tanks shrunk immediately, but these new ones are good)

cute bathing suits, cute pajamas and occasional cute top or skirt

the rest is usually kind of junky. i have 2 pairs of work pans from there and the hem ripped after 2 wears.

ditto

I can go years without buying anything there - but recently I have found some cute stuff. and since it was so cheap, if it lasts me just the summer, I am fine with it.

I think their stuff has gone waaaay downhill in the past 5 yrs or so. I still have a sweatshirt that I bought when I worked there in college (10+ years ago Chat Icon that's in good shape). Their recent stuff is just ill-fitting crap to me.

Yeah, not feeling it. I was in there today and the shorts are all TINY!!! The quality isn't there and it's not so cheap either. I also think gap quality isn't what it once was....

I do buy DS the occasional outfit from Old NAvy and they tend to shrink Chat Icon

I agree. I buy tee's and tanks from there that I don't care if they only last the season. I bought sweats there and they have lastd over a year now and still looking good. I never bought pants or dressier stuff from there - they don't fit me right. I tried their jeans but they don't keep their fit. They stretch out so much when you wear them and become big baggy leg jeans by mid-day.

I find their tshirts got very thin and cheap. I used to buy different colors each year and they are not the quality they once were.

Ditto! Years ago the quality was so much better. I'd rather spend more to get stuff that will last longerChat Icon.
