How do you feel about super short hair on a woman?

Not a mens hair style, but let's say- like Michelle Williams or Gennifer Goodwin.

I have an oval face, and when my hair is longer, say even a chin length bob, my face looks longer. I do grow it out occasionally, but then I chop it.

I would like to say I am stylish. Always wear make up and jewelry. But now I am starting to wonder.

I am 38, and I have never had long hair. I have had extensions, 2x- years ago. I am considering it again.

IF I could have any hair, I would loooove Kyle Richard's hair from the RHWO Beverly Hills. Long and pin straight.

I usually feel confident about how I look, but now I am afraid that I am starting to look matronly. My cousin pointed out that my short hair is the same style as my Mom and her 3 sisters (who are all in their 60's and 70's)!!!!

What do you think?
Rock the short hair
grow it out
spend the $$$$ and get the extensions

I love it- but not everyone can pull it off. And I've had very short hair (not pixie-short, but kinda close) and it's a PITA because you really do have to trim it every 6-8 weeks. Also, I found that the very short look was better on me when I was in my late 20s (when I first went very short) than my mid-late 30s.

But everyone is different, so I am probably no help. I tend to think longer=younger looking, which is why I'm growing mine longer at the moment. It's also so much easier to put up in the hot weather.

Used to have super super short hair. Almost like a femme buzz cut and I loved it! So easy to take care of. I recently let it grow out and I miss that super short look so much!

I say cut it! It's only hair and it will grow back if you don't like it

either punk up the short haircut....or... get it to be longer.

no need for old fart hair.

and for me i love anytype of hair as long as it suits you and looks healthy!!!!!! but short or long hair needs some pizazz to keep it looking youthful kwim? gl

I have super short, pixi-ish type cut right now! I love it, I just wish the front was a little longer. i have nothing at all to hide behind! I feel if you are confident, you can pull it off. If it does look matronly, it may be your stylist. See someone who specializes in shorter styles that way they really know how to cut it for you head and face shape. the only thing I dont like is I feel like I always have to do alot of makeup to not feel like a little boy!

Depends on the person.. I know some that can totally pull it off and I WISH I could but I can't.. I need long hair lol

If you can do it, more power to you! Like when Emma Watson cut her hair off it just was right. It suits her so well!

I like it--especially on women with good bonw structure and/or striking eyes.

My mom has short hair now in her 60s, but she also did in her wedding photos when she was 23 & it looked beautiful.

ive had several short short pixie haircuts in my day and i LOVE them! I always begin to grow it out and then I miss it so much, I chop it all off again.

To pull it off, I agree that you need a really flawless face. Great bone structure, and also a rather "tiny" face if that makes sense. However, even for those women who I think can pull it off and actually look good with super short hair, 9/10 times I still think those women look even prettier with long hair.

I have short hair like Emma. Had long hair and it made me look older.
With short hair you cant hide and you have to be confident.
I get the most attention with short hair-perhaps that and my weightloss buit with longer hair I kinda blended in-in my industry everyone has extentions etc but once I cut my hair I noticed a change-in me and others. But you have to be sure its right for your features.

Depending on the face it can be either amazing or a car wreck.

I like it for oval faces, round or square jaws not so much and hear shaped faces look like elves to me very short hair.

I think it looks nice on some people, but not all. I also will say that while I love Michelle and Ginnifers hair super short I LOVE it more long I get the ease of the short hair, but I love how feminine longer hair looks. Plus I love the options.

Honestly depends on the person, I loved it on Natalie Portman, hated it on Norah Jones, and Id like go see Jamie Lee Curtis with something new for a change

I have never ever had short hair but I think that the pixie cuts look amazing on some people. Sometimes I think that I like the extremes better than the in between lengths.

I have very short hair. I get compliments left and right. I've had people stop me on the street. I really think all you need is a great stylist that will look at your face shape and find what suits you. I've done lots of experimenting as well. The first shot cut you get may not be THE one. Have fun!
