How Do You Find A Sitter?(North NJ Area)

Chat Icon Chat Icon

So DH may have to travel for work in two weeks and I work Tues-Thurs night. I am teacher and that is finals weeks so I cant just cancel the class. My only family support, my sister, doesnt get home in time.

I thought you go by referrals, yadda yadda. But not one person I know in nj knows of a any sitters. So how can I find a sitter for nighttime in two weeks?

Where in NJ are you?

Is this a sitter for DC? Does DC go to daycare? Maybe a teacher at daycare would babysit?

Hmmm... if he is starting daycare in January, you probably already have that lined up. If he is going to a center, maybe you could go over there and find out if any of the girls do babysitting on their off time? I know a lot of the girls at my center babysit.

Since you are going to trust them to watch your DS when he starts daycare, I would think they would be ok to come babysit for you.

umm yea, I dont have that lined up for January. We did go visit the daycare when they were reviewing us to become foster parents (talking june). But by the time we got AJ I was working nights so I we decided to wait. They havent seened our faces since.

We have to put the deposit this week and register him. Right now he doesnt go to any centers.

I know I am horrible, procrastination is my middle name.

I put an ad on care.com a few times and got a lot of responses and also used a few people from there that worked out really well.

Also, what about any of the local colleges or high schools ? You can place an ad there and should get a lot of responses from students.

I also had my kids in daycare and got some phone numbers from the teachers who were looking to babysit a few nights for extra money.
