How do you get a 5week old to fall asleep on their own?
Emma will fall asleep in my arms immediately but the second I put her down...wide awake...
my question really is, do I rock her to sleep EVERY time? This drives me insane in the middle of the night...b/c I rock, put her down & she wakes, rock, put her down & she wakes, MULTIPLE times. I swear some nights I'm about to have a mental breakdown!! lol
I tried swaddling, I use the binky, and still, wide awake unless she is in my arms.
How do you teach them to fall asleep on their own?!
I guess I never realized how good I had it w/DS,.. he pretty much went down right away every time
TIA!

I had to rock DD for the 1st couple of mths to get her to sleep. I think thats pretty normal early on. I used to wait a few min after she fell asleep in my arms and then she wouldnt wake when I put her down. She slept during the day in the bouncy chair not the crib.

we have a whole process.... DH shushes her, swaddles and rocks til she is drowsy. Then she goes in the crib. He continues shushing as he backs out of the room. It also helps when this is just after a feeding. We only do this at night.
During the day, she falls asleep on me. I put her down when i need to do something, but she wakes up much faster than if i just left her on me. then, i pick her up, she falls asleep, and repeat....
