How do you get your IVF meds? Esp LIIVF girls

I do not start with my injects until 6/27 but I am getting a little anxious. Do you get scripts like regular meds? I need a precertification for all of my IVF meds. I gave them all of the info for my ins co last week. One nurse said she would call but she is out this week. She said she would just have them sent to my house. I saw another nurse on Friday and she said she would call them on Friday afternoon. So I called my ins co this morning and no one from the office has called requesting an auth As of now I do not have any written scripts. I don't care how they get here as long as they get here. I am starting the day after Memorial Day and don't want to be stuck with the long weekend and all the extra stress.

I am not an LI-IVF girl yet, but w/ my very IUI like protocol for my last IUI I actually called my insurance company directly and had them fax over a form to my drs office (i knew which meds I needed)...
they needed preauthorization for my lupron and it took weeks to get done for some reason the nurse filled it out and faxed it back and then my mail order meds company called me to schedule delivery and setup payment before they could be shipped. HTH!

You are assigned a nurse and she called in all my perscriptions to a mail order pharmacy comapny. The pharamacy then called to arrange delivery and payment and they were always able to arrange delivery within a couple days.

Yeah, it was my first time dealing w/ my insurance company b/c now we're under DHs insurance... it was pretty crazy, but i know I'm in the minority here--- most people don't have any problems getting their meds

I could be totally wrong here, but it's very possible that the pharmacy gets your pre-auth.

All I know is that my LI-IVF nurse faxed in my prescription, the pharmacy called me and asked for my insurance info and next thing I know I was scheduling delivery.

I have found the nurses at LIIVF to be very helpful...definitely call.

It's really early for them to call in your meds prescription. Mine usually does it couple of weeks before. You dont' want the meds too early. But, I understand that you want to make sure it's COVERED PROPERLY. But, it's too early to stress. You need to relax. This is not that scary, I promise you. You need to take some deep breathes and let some of this out.

Every cycle I did, the nurses called in my meds and then the pharmacy called to make sure insurance info was the same and then arranged delivery and payment.
One time Kraupner (LIIVF's pharmacy of choice) didn't have what I needed so they forwarded the prescription to Freedom - who also verified insurance and delivery.

None of it ever took weeks, it was a matter of a couple days.

On a side note, when you order from Kraupners make sure you count all your meds before they leave. Get the list from your nurse.

I have had problems with Kraupner's pharmacy from day 1. I have used them 3 x's. The first time, they delivered my meds at the wrong time twice! The second time, My estrogen patches...I was missing one (it comes in a box), and the third time, They delivered way after they said they would and I was missing syrnges. Oh yeah, I was put on hold at one point for 20 minutes!

I was fuming. And I finally called back to speak to the office manager. WEll, the owner got on the phone and was very apologetic and empathetic. He gave me his cell phone number and asked me to call if I ever ran into any problems with the pharmacy. He had someone deliver my syrnges within the hour and he gave about 20 free syrnges free() So I was very impressed with our conversation. I mentioned to him, that I hope I do not need to use them again but b/c of our conversation, I would.

This was my experience but other girls have had no problems with them. I do like that they will deliver late in the evening or to my office. If you do run into a problem, speak to the owner!

Thanks girls. I know its early and I am stressing but whenever pre authorization is required it makes me really nervous.
