How do you give medicine to a 3.5mth old?
So it turns out that not only did I give DD my cold she had the beginnings of an ear infection so the ped started her on Amoxicillin. Up until now all I've given her was Tylenol and Mylicon drops which is just a small dropper full that I've managed to get it in her but these antibiotics are given 1/2 teaspoon at a time and half of it winds up on her bib and dribbling down her neck and chin. Any advice?
ETA: I used the syringe that the medication came with.

I give it to DD with the dropper and then immediately put the bottle in her mouth so she automatically sucks and swallows.
oops I just realized that you're nursing, right? No suggestions

Does she get a pacifier at all? I used to plug her up with the paci I would also try dropping in very tiny amounts. Also, if she does use a pacifier, they make medicine dispensing pacis.

Yes I nurse but she does take BM in a bottle. Do you think sticking a pacifier in her mouth right after would get the same results?

A medicine paci sounds great, I didn't realize they make one. Where can I get one?

Squirt in the nipple of a bottle and let her take it that way. That worked for us when she was that small.

That's an even better idea. Then you don't have to go buy the special medicine one.

I have given it in the middle of nursing using the medicine dropper, using the pacifier dispenser, or using the medicine dropper pointed toward their cheeks.

I have to give DD Zantac 3 times a day so I know what your dealing with. I tilt her head back and shoot it towards her cheek. It seems to work. Good luck!
