How Do You Guys Stay Positive/Contain Your Emotions?
I wake up almost everyday with knots in my stomach wondering if dh and I will ever have kids. If I get my AF on a day I have to work, I get so upset to the point that I want to call out sick. If I go to work, I am a complete basket case. When dh is gone, all I want to do is cry (I don't really want him seeing me upset)This is so draining!! What do you guys do to help all of this? I was thinking about talking to someone.
PS..can you tell I got AF!!

this is a very common post on here. I think the best answer I've heard, and what I try to do now- is TELL myself that I AM going to have kids... Then I throw myself a pity party and move on to the next month. It'll happen- you just have to have faith.

I guess Im the minority, but I really just dont let it get to me. I RARELY get upset about it....usually only when I get bad news from a test or something. I am not one to cry or get upset everytime I walk near the baby aisle in a department store or see a pregnant woman. I just kind of keep at it and try to put it out of my head the rest of the time.

you will have a baby,It is a hard and draining process and your not in it alone..the dh understands to a point..I think that if you need to speak to someone, it would have to be someone professional who has been through this..other wise they will not understand what you are emotionally going through..in my infertility center, there is a phychologist there who has been through this and she is very helpful..so check into your clinic to see if they have that avabile for you and your dh..hope i can be helpful...

I feel the same way. I'm glad you wrote this because I've started thinking it's weird that I'm not overly emotional over my situation. I've been trying for a year and a half and I want kids more than anything in the world, but I've never really cried over it. Like you, being around children (I work with toddlers) or hearing about a new pregnancy doesn't bother me. I do get upset when I get my period each month, but I try not to dwell on it and begin each cycle with a positive attitude.

Re: How Do You Guys Stay Positive/Contain Your Emotions?
I just posted the same question I think it was last week. It is very hard-for me it is the absolute hardest the day of af and 2 days after that (I guess when my hormones are at thier peak-lol). After shedding many tears, getting a TON of support from this board, and close supportive friends...I am able to pick myself back up-even if it is short lived. I totally agree with the Pity Party. It helps a lot.

Re: How Do You Guys Stay Positive/Contain Your Emotions?
I cried on occasion, not every cycle...but I found the best way to stay positive was to really occupy myself during the 2WW and make plans for the day of beta and a few days after so that I wouldn't be occupied with my beta results. It's hard, but I just kept believing that it would happen someday.

Re: How Do You Guys Stay Positive/Contain Your Emotions?
it's hard to deal with on some days, and on others its not a big issue. For some reason getting AF this month really did a number on me. I just try to stay positive and i find that retail therapy is extremely helpful @ these times
