How do you handle play dates with someone you'd rather not have your child hang out with?

I have been making excuses of being busy hoping they get the message but they are not. How do you tell someone nicely you don't want your child hanging with theirs? lol

This is a tough one. I would never want to hurt someone's feelings and / or insult their child.

Do you work full time? Can you say that your work schedule is chaotic for the next few weeks and say that you'll reach out to her when things settle down?

I know, I know. It's lie. But, it diffuses the situation quickly and painlessly.

I'm a SAHM. The child in question makes bad choices and I'm not too happy with the parenting choices either. I guess I'll keep on lying.

I dealt with this. Kids were imo out of control and the mom barely parented. I just kept declining.

Just be polite and keep declining. Eventually they will get the hint.
