How do you properly pronounce the word OFTEN

On z100 yesterday they said it was pronounced "OFFEN" not "OFTEN" as in the "T" is silent.

Is that right?

I just checked the dictionary on my desk as well...essentially, both are acceptable pronunciations.

I pronounced the "t."

I now pronounce it OFFEN. I used to say OFTEN, but it bothers FH so much when I pronounce the T I never really even knew that people say it two ways!
