how do you remove cooking smells from your house?
i have been cooking with garlic lately and my small townhome reeks afterwords. my husband has been complaining the scent permeates on to his suits/coats. does anyone know what to do to make sure this doesn't happen? fabreze and candles do not do the trick!

You probably already tried opening the windows?
eta: Im reading online that you can simmer potpourri - "Mix water, citrus peels or slices, a few cloves, a cinnamon stick and rosemary in a small pot and simmer for a couple of hours. Add water as necessary to prevent drying out. Substitute with your favorite fragrant herbs and spices."
or
"Simmer vinegar and citrus slices. Mix equal parts vinegar and water with a slice or two of your favorite citrus in a small pot and simmer for a couple of hours. The evaporating vinegar molecules will neutralize the odor molecules that have settled on kitchen surfaces. After simmering, leave the vinegar solution in the open for a few more hours."

what always does the trick is take actual cinnamon sticks(if you dont have the stick the powder works also but i like the sticks better) in a pot of water and boil..

When I cook or fry something, I always make sure to close my closet door, then close my bedroom door. I hate when my clothes smell like last nights dinner. IT works, try it.
