Re: How do you save $?
Be careful when considering raising your deductible on car insurance. We lease our cars are our lease states our deductible can not be higher then $500.
I always take books out of the library and try not to buy to many. When I want a book I can't get at the library I try to buy it at target and try not to buy hardcover
a lot of grocery items are SOOO much cheaper at walmart
buy meat at costco (but you really need to know your prices, and sale prices, sometimes you can get meat cheaper on sale in the grocery store)
exercise at home instead of the gym, we bought bikes and ride often, and walk the dog!! He loves it and its exercising
I never go out for lunch, I either bring it or go home for lunch (I work 5 mins away)
turn the thermostat down when your not home
reviewing your cell phone plans. Have the smallest plan possible or share your minutes
I refuse to pay an ATM fee when I have to get cash. It helps me not take cash out often, and those fees add up.
I use Quickbooks to track every cent we spend. When you see the numbers for the month and even year, it gets you to stop spending so much.
I'm really not that good a saving $ so I can't give you tons of ideas

Re: How do you save $?
I do a lot of the things mention and also I make a meal plan of what I am going to cook for the next week or two before going to the supermarket that way I get exactly what I need and I dont go in the middle of the week and buy more things just because

I agree with the library. Look at your tax bill! I am taxed $600 a year for my library - so I am always cognizant to take full use of it. If I ever think about buying a book, I think of the $600 I have already spent at the library.
if they don't have something, they can always borrow from another library or order it themselves!

Wow, great point. I never thought of it that way. I tend to buy a lot of books because it's just easier.
