How do you store your shoes?

Ideas, Pictures??? I'm thinking of doing this over the door thing, but I need feedback from people who have it or even just other ideas. I'm overwhelmed and I'm NOT getting rid of shoes!

I keep them in plastic shoe boxes and stack them on the shelf and floor of my closet. I have tried several ways and that is what works best for me.

I should say I have no closet space to store shoes.

I'm retarded and keep them in their original boxes. My closet looks like a shoe store.

I have an over-the-door thing b/c I live in an apartment in Manhattan, and I hate it...my shoes weight it down and everytime I walk past it one shoe falls off

BUT, if you don't have a lot of space, it is an option...

I had Huntington closets build me a pretty awesome closet. One whole side is for shoes.

on the floor and I have a hanging cloth where i put some as well

Most are in a heap on my closet floor, some in the original boxes and others are in a shoe thing (don't have pic of it, but it holds about 20 shoes). I rotate between summer and winter shoes though, so I keep the rest in a big tub in my basement.

I wish I had room to keep my shoes in their boxes...they would stay so much nicer that way. Oh, well...we'll be moving into our house soon enough, where we will FINALLY have space

I have shelves that I bought at walmart...

But I used to have an over the door thing with plastic compartments... But it only held smaller shoes - sneakers would take up one little plastic thing each.

throw them in the bottom of the closet and then curse myself every morning because it takes me forever to find a pair!

I have a ridiculous amount of shoes.

I have two of those over the door thingies - my DH got them for me because he thought my shoes needed organizing.

I will look for a pic of it. It's a bit different from the one above.

SOme are just lined up on the floor of my closet, the rest are in their original boxes stacked up on the floor and shelf.

I keep them in the boxes they came in...and attach a card to the outside that tells me what is in each box

I have shelves in my closet-- I love it, it looks like a store-- the rest mostly just sit in piles throughout my apt.

i have a seperate floor to ceiling shelve unit i had built in my walk in so i could try to put them on there-key word here is "try"
