How do you transition from 1 formula to another?
I am going to be switching Andrew to Next Step and wondering how to do this?
Should I slowly add it? Like 1 bottle a day for a week and then the next week add 2 bottles a day? Etc.

I was going to ask why you are changing as well..... At this point, I am keeping Lauren on the same formula and going to transition to milk in about 2 months!

Re: How do you transition from 1 formula to another?
Mix 2oz of the next step with his regular formula for each bottle for a few days and then increase it by 2 oz until it is all next step. So if gets an 8oz bottle then week 1 would be 2oz next step, 6 oz formula. Week 2 is half and half then week 3 would be 6oz next step and 2 oz formula and then by the next week he should be on next step. I used a week as an easy guide line. Now my son notices the slightest difference in his bottle and he wouldnt drink the powder at all since his on RTF.

Re: How do you transition from 1 formula to another?
I am changing because after a lot of research I feel that kids under 2 do not need milk. I really don't even have diary in my diet.
This formula has more vitamins, calcium, iron etc then regular milk and I feel it is best for Andrew for at least another year.
Thank you Seles81

I switched to Good Start 2 cold turkey. It's the same base formula really. It's not a shock to their system like whole milk.

That is what I really want to do. I know the ped had said that I could do that with the similac to the gentlease when we switched.
Maybe I will call him today and see what he suggests.

I got a free sample of the Next Step and I compared it to the regular formula. Its almost identical so you could probably go straight. I doubt he would notice the difference.

Re: How do you transition from 1 formula to another?
I only posted that suggestion because my son is picky. I tried to switch from Enfamil A.R. to regular Enfamil twice and that was mixing it and then to Enfamil Next Step and he wouldnt have it at all. Try a bottle and if he does ok with taking it then do it cold turkey. If he doesnt then I suggest what I posted earlier. Also did you get my FM?
