How does Santa come to your house?
I always enjoy learning how Santa manifests himself differently in everyone's homes. Wrapped gifts, unwrapped? Stocking gifts? share your tradition!

Santa is bringing all of the gifts from the house, I don't really want to confuse him this year....plus he is really into the Santa thing this year
His big toy will be unwrapped and put together, the other stuff i s wrapped under the tree and in his stocking

Re: How does Santa come to your house?
Santa comes down the chimney and then upstairs to our living room (since the tree is there while we have our lower level [where the fireplace is] re-finished). All presents are wrapped - we leave the wrapping paper rolls out on the table for him, right next to his cookies and milk - and small items are put in their stockings and then the stocking is placed on thier pile of toys (since its usually too heavy to hand up anywhere at that point).

That's Great!! I was wrapping DS's gifts in a different paper and ran out, I thought I hope he doesn't notice Santa's paper and Mommy's paper are the same!! I started thinking of what stories to tell him LOL!
Santa comes to our house through the chimney, eats cookies, leaves wrapped presents and fills the stockings.

Mommy sleeps with him and then wraps all of the presents he leaves behind.
Sorry, DS isn't old enough for us to have a back story yet

He comes through the front door because we don't have a chimney. He has a special key. He eats cookies & drinks some milk & leaves wrapped presents under the tree & a few little treats in our stockings.

Re: How does Santa come to your house?
Unwrapped gifts, lots of fun little stuff for the stocking. We leave a Santa Key hanging on the back door for him to use to get in since we don't have a chimney.
Cookies and milk on the table for Santa, carrots for him to give the reindeer, and reindeer food on the front lawn to make sure the reindeer know to stop at our house.
He doesn't leave a note, but he does send them each a long letter earlier in December.

Since we do not have a chimney, my brother & SIL sent DS "santa's magic key" which we hang on the front door for Santa to use. Since this DS 1st Christmas, we are not wrapping his gifts

We do this as well....all gifts ( stockings included ) are from santa and all wrapped except big things ( this yr thats a small couch and a table and chairs and a work bench)...those big items are left unwrapped out in front of tree.

Re: How does Santa come to your house?
Santa makes an appearance at my brother's house through the front door; hands out wrapped gifts from his big bag & then grandpa magically returns from "putting something in his car or going to the bathroom."
The next morning Santa leaves more presents under the tree & in their stockings.

Re: How does Santa come to your house?
On Christmas Eve we have a party. The kids will get presents from our friends and from us (as mom and dad). We always give them pj's. We sing Carols and we read The Night Before Christmas and the Gospel according to St. Luke. One child gets to put the Christ child in the manger on Christmas Eve. We go outside and the kids sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn. The other children get to take their reindeer food home to put on their own lawns. When the party is over, the kids are tucked in and Rob continues my dad's tradition by waving jingle bells around on the deck, flashing a red light toward the window and stomping on the roof. They get verryyy excited. I make a big deal of going downstairs to check if Santa has left any gifts. Rob and I come back and tell them Santa must have realized they were awake and they need to go to sleep before he can return with gifts!
Santa comes down the chimney and through the fireplace and leaves a little trail of magic in his wake (glitter and confetti). He unpackages all the presents and puts in batteries and charges them if need be. Then he wraps them in pretty paper with bows.
He puts fruits and little treats in the stockings - and leaves 2 notes rolled and tied with ribbon - in the tree branches. The notes will thank the boys for being good and tell them what he observed about them this year.
Then he'll eat half his cookies and all of his healthy snack (veggies or soup) - and leave the part of the carrot with reindeer teeth marks on it before flying off to the next house.
On Christmas Morning we wake up the boys and they run downstairs. We eat pancakes and sing "Happy Birthday" for Jesus.
After they open presents they each pick a present to give to a needy child instead of keeping it. They also pick one present and let their brother play with it before they do.
Then we get dressed and hit the road for Grandma's house!!

Re: How does Santa come to your house?
This is the first year DD is able to grasp the concept of Santa at all. I've decided gifts from Santa will be wrapped in paper that has Santa on it. Santa is bringing some big gifts that won't be wrapped at all though, and I haven't found bows with Santa's picture on it.

This brought tears to my eyes! How incredibly special for your boys. DS isn't old enough to know what is going on, but when he is, I'd love to 'borrow' your tradition!
