how does this whole weaning off the bottle thing work?

We give Alyson her bottle AFTER meals, before nap/bedtime.

She'll drink from a sippy during meals, but I offer her milk (formula/milk combo right now) in the sippy first thing in the AM and she'll take a few sips, and that is it.

The bottles, she polishes off like there is no tomorrow.

Just keep trying! I just used all different sippy cups until I found one he liked milk in. He drank milk in a similar pattern to your girl. He drank from sippys but only water. I had never used the Nuby and wound up since it is such a soft spout - he took milk from it right away and never looked for a bottle. We weaned the afternoon bottle first - no issues. Did the morning one next - no issues. Once he used the Nuby for a few weeks - he started using all sippys for milk and now I use whatever I pull off the shelf first. Eventually he learned straw cups and drinks milk from that too.

I waited on the one before bed because we were scared to change our routine since he was finally sleeping well. But we did that eventually and there were no issues but must admit we still use the Nuby most days for this. But I have tried otheres before bed and he does take them. My DH does the night routine and he is scared to change it and never get him to bed.

ok, thanks Denise.

Now, my question is, she will drink milk from a sippy....but NOT as much as she drinks from a bottle.

How much of an issue is this?

I used the Nuby as well. the soft spout really helped! Just like the PP mentioned - from Nuby, any sippy or straw cup became fine to use

I wouldn't worry about not drinking all the milk. they need to cut down from formula, so maybe it's a good thing. Just make sure you up the water

I would like to know to- she refuses to drink out of a sippy. I have tried a bunch of different kinds.
