How expensive is Gymboree (The classes not the store...LOL)
Is it worth it to enroll DS in this? I've been thinking about it...

I'm not sure about playgyms which might suit your DS better. The classes, if I remember correctly, for the fall session are $299 for the lowest package, $459 for middle and $725 for their "choice" program

I had a mixed reaction to gymboree I liked it but didn't love it - so many people had told me how amazing it was - and it was just okay. Last I checked they wanted $459 or so for the fall semester.

I think their prices are out of control, but if people pay it, they will continue to charge it. I just looked at the class prices for Once Upon a Treetop and they are insane also.

Re: How expensive is Gymboree (The classes not the store...LOL)
I personally think it's totally worth it.
If you break it down - it's about 16 dollars a class (or something ridiculous like that) For the Fall semester - I paid $299 - which is not bad IMO.
My son is not in daycare - I like that he has this interaction with other children.
I have seen him progress tremendously in the time that we have been there. Things that I couldn't push him up - he is now climbing on his own. I think it's great for their development!
ETA: I also think it REALLY depends on the teacher. I have had the same one forever now - but she just left Gymborree. I DO NOT like the people who they have to fill in for her at all.
I also LOVED The music class w/ her. Jack loved it so much. Now with the new guy taking over - we haven't even gone. Def. try out different teachers when you go!
Also - I have done Music Together - and Jack has gotten much more out of Gymboree then that Music Together classes. Kids are all different though and I know plenty of people who swear by Music Together! You have to find the right fit!

Re: How expensive is Gymboree (The classes not the store...LOL)
I enrolled DD over the summer because the classes were a lot cheaper (shorter sessions) and they had open play gym (unlimited classes). We went to music and gym. Music was a little weak IMO, but DD loved it nevertheless. Gym she liked even more.
I won't be enrolling her in the fall because it's too expensive. I also feel her age (she's 2 and a few months) was perfect for it. Anything younger and she wouldn't have gotten as much out of it, but I would have been willing to give it a try at 18 months if the cost was lower.

I think the gym classes are worth it IMO. I wasnt a big fan of their music classes.
eta: you can sign up online or call your local center to try out a class for free before joining so you get an idea.

We've never taken Gymboree classes but we have been going to "MY Gym" forever. It's half the price and soo much fun!

your son might to be too old for the programs now that hes over 2. think its more for taking it from the different infant stages up till 1 1/2 -2. your probably better off putting him in soccer, dance, or gymnastics. we have tons of boys in our gymnastics classes. its an obstacle course the kids do and then they get 10 minutes to play on the trampoline and ball pit.

I'm in Queens. Maybe I haven't really looked really hard. But if you could find out for me that would be so helpful. I'm clueless sometimes...

Re: How expensive is Gymboree (The classes not the store...LOL)
I did not like gymboree. I felt it was over priced and clickish. Kiera has been going to the Little Gym in Merrick for almost 2 years now and I am very happy with it. It's less expensive than Gymboree and I feel the people are a lot nicer.

This was a problem we had over the summer. Our teacher on Sundays (well she was filling in for the regular teacher but did so the majority of the weeks) was awful. She cut the class REALLY short (last week it was like 20-minutes) and has no clue what she's doing. REALLY turned me off to be paying for that.
