I was thinking about how some people think certain things r funny but others dont. I remember the other day there was a disussion in regard to something someone said, not that I agree or disagree. I just wanted to mention last nite I was watching Seinfeld and the last joke on his TV program was about people trying to commit suicide. As if this was a joke. I assume some might have laughed and some might have been angered by this. The joke was something like "why r people who commit suicide still alive, the ones that dont try die before those that do try" it was something to that effect. Dont remember the details. I just thought that was a bit odd on television and I could definitely see how that would offend some people. especially those with losses from this particular situation. I am sure he didnt put this on tv to offend people, while I am sure he and his staff thought it was funny.

my point was that there is such a degree of what people think is funny and what is not funny. I couldnt believe that on the TV they would make such a horrific comment. it really wasnt a question but rather a statement.

all that was asked or rather said was that it was unusual first post comment. how would you know what has transpired on the boards if you weren't lurking.

Re: How far humor goes?
i think everyons has a very different sense of humour and to one person something could be funny while it may offend teh person next to you. humour is about being offended in my opinion. for me, i perosnlaly like offensive jokes teh best.
its just everyones sense of humour is different. theres no satisfying everyone.

Girls, i would stop trying to "guess" why I am here. Its an innocent statement made by an innocent person. What I am lying about I dont know...hmmm. I just made a statement bc I thought it was screwed up that the TV show would say such a thing. No, I am not new to this board. Maybe my name is new but not me. Sorry to offend so many people for something I thought they shouldnt be joking about on tv. I was just trying to make a point that obviously seinfeld thought this humor was funny and I did not. No need to kill me.
why the new name?

But to answer your question...we are all differnt. That should be kinda obvious..And with that differnce comes opinions on what people find funny and what others do not.
As far as the example you gave...well it is tooo vague and confusing to to understand so i cannot comment
But Seinfeld is a riot..so i amsure whatever was siad was funny imo
