How far in advance did you send out birthday invitations?
DS will be having his birthday party in early March. Is mid-January too early to send out invites?

Re: How far in advance did you send out birthday invitations?
I generally send invites about 1 month in advance (so long as it's not on a holiday or busy type weekend).
I find that too much earlier and people lose track of it. Later than that and you risk people having plans.
Generally 3-4 weeks is what I stick to (more like 4 weeks when I can).

DS b-day is Memorial Day weekend so we sent them out about 6 or 7 weeks ahead since it's a holiday weekend. norm is probably 4 or 5 weeks

This seems to be the standard, for the most part. We've been invited to dozens of parties, and it's usually about a month beforehand.

Re: How far in advance did you send out birthday invitations?
I think I'll send them out 7 weeks in advance so end of January for beginning of March party.
Then we'll give the neighborhood kids (kids where we aren't good friends with the parents) invitations 3-4 weeks before the party.

Re: How far in advance did you send out birthday invitations?
I usually do it about 5 weeks or so in advance. During the summer or around the holidays, I'd give more time, but for March, a month-5 weeks seems fine.
