How hard was the transition from bassinet to crib

I was thinking of making the switch at 3 months (which still gives me a little over a month) but now I am considering pushing it to 4 months.

How was the transition - and should I just stop being a worry wart and do it at 3?

ETA: I have the video monitor and I'm sure I'll be glued to it at all times.Chat Icon

ETA Again - How old was your DC when you made the switchover?

It was no big deal in my house. She was still being swaddled when we switched, so I just put her in the crib and she slept the same.

I think it was around 3 months. I was really upset about it and picked her up asleep and brought her back to my room the first night Chat Icon . But the next night I did it and it went surprisingly well. Good luck!

DS has been in the crib from the beginning--he is 3 months now and I would seriously put him in the crib now if you can....th reason i am saying this is that the older they get the more they are aware of you leaving the room etc

i can tell with DS--he used to not even flinch when i left the room..now he looks around for me

You think? I don't think DS notices at all now that he is in his crib.

We put DS in last week, about 3.5 months. He has a mobile in his crib and I turn it on just before I leave the room and when it ends, he does cry, but that is b/c he fights sleep, not because we left. I go back in to pop the pacifier in and he doesn't even seem to notice me.

I mean, i could see them noticing at like 6 or 7 months, but I don't think my DS did now thoguh.

We made the switch at around 2 wks old. He did fine. I have the video monitor too, which I LOVE!! The transition was good. We did it at 2 wks b/c he was banging the sides of the bassinet w/ his hands and scaring himself and/or waking himself.

I think ds was about 2wks old when he started sleeping in his crib at night. I was nervous in the beginning but it went just fine. :)

I was so afraid to do this!

Megan stayed in the bassinet SO LONG...longer then she should have!

It was wonderful though! Once she was in there, she looked so much more comfy and slept beautifully! Good Luck!
