How large is your property?
I'm just trying to see what the norm on LI is. Please don't answer if you are elsewhere!
Conversion:
1 acre = 43,560 sq feet
Here is a calculator to convert sq ft to acre
ETA: I know there are differences between Nassau and Suffolk. I'm just wondering the average property size of the LIFer.
The concept of this post came up because of my family OOS. They think our lot is small, but I think it's a good size for where we are.

Re: How large is your property?
Typically, the further east you go, the larger the properties are. Some towns have minimum lot sizes, so what is the "norm" in one town, may not even be allowed in another town.

.68 acres, mid-Suffolk. Everything we looked at was pretty much between .5 and .75 acres.

Re: How large is your property?
about .14 in Nassau county. I find suffolk county you can get more for your money since it is further out. my friend is in Bayshore and her lot is 90X10.

Same here. I'm in central Nassau. Almost every house in my neighborhood on the same amount of property. My parents are in eastern Suffolk and they're on a 1/4 of an acre, just like most of their neighborhood. And we pay the same thing in taxes!

Re: How large is your property?
Suffolk - 90 x 105 (.22 acre)....my friend lives in Islip and has over 1/2 an acre in a residential neighborhood. I think Nassau is pretty consistent, but Suffolk has very wide ranges.
