How little sleep...
is it possible for a child and mother to function on???
DD is 6 months and was sleeping through the night but has recently decided to stop...
She has been a belly sleeper since about 8 weeks and recently she started rolling over onto her back in her sleep and waking herself up and for some reason she keeps getting stuck and can't back on her belly...
During the day when we are playing, she is always on her belly and can roll both ways no problem... At night when I put her down, she immediately rolls to her back
She falls asleep this way but last night she was up sooo much, I kept letting her cry and she would fall back to sleep but then wake up shortly after...
At one point I ended up nursing her and putting her down on her belly and she slept about 2 hours that way but seriously, I don't think I got more than 2 hours of sleep total myself...
Is this a phase or has my good sleeper completely turned on me??????

Re: How little sleep...
sounds like a phase since you said she was sleeping through before. you might have to let her cry some more nights so she figures out how to get herself comfortable without your aid, otherwise she is going to depending on you every time. just an idea-i am not sure. good luck! sleep deprivation is the worst!

Re: How little sleep...
Both my girls went through a big growth spurt during that time, my youngest was waking to eat cause she was hungry. We fed her, it lasted about a month then she went right back to her regular sleeping through.
But then separation anxiety peaked and now it takes her at least a 1/2 hour to settle in, but will sleep her 12 hours.
I don't believe in CIO personally but you have to do what works for your family.
GL, and I don't plan on ever having a goods night sleep until they are married and out of my house That way there's no expectations

Re: How little sleep...
It sounds like my son's 4 month growth spurt. He did this for a couple weeks, then he started sleeping normally again. It was horrible while it lasted and made me wonder how I ever coped with him as a newborn!
Everything I have read says not to feed babies in the middle of the night after 4 months or so, but after trying to calm him every other way, this was the only thing that calmed him down. I think he wasn't accepting enough food during the day and was waking up starving. It didn't become a permanent habit, once he started eating more during the day, he slept again.

Re: How little sleep...
I'm not sure if it's a growth spurt since she doesn't seem overly hungry at night, seems more like she is nursing for comfort b/c she can't get comfy on her back and is getting stuck trying to flip to her belly, I don't know...
She's too big/old for a wedge, I guess I have to let her cry and let her work it out on her own...

How old is he? what do you do when he gets up?
Last night I think it was like every 1/2 hr - 1 hr, nuts!
