How long are you really in the air traveling from Newark to
Orlando?
I am afraid of flying and now that DS is coming it is a million times worse for me.
The tickets say over 3 hrs. Is that right? That just seems like a long time to get to Orlando.

Hmmm we are leaving for Orlando in 2 weeks (12 days) and flying from LGA - and it says the flight is 2.47. It is hard to say how much is on the ground taxiing etc - I would figure at least 2hr 30 mins would be air time if not longer. I would think a little less from newark.

It's 2 hours in the air. The airlines include time for taxiing and any delays. They get fined if they take off late.

It's more like 2-2.5 hours.

I agree with the others. Three hours to allow for ground delays. I'm sorry about your flying fear. I used to be very afraid to fly as well but flying with DH who is a pilot has helped a lot. Here is a link that could maybe help you understand what's going on and make the experience less scary Ask The Pilot
