How long before closing did toy schedule a date?

Did you a lot of notice before you closed? I feel like with our first purchase we knew way in advance and everything ran so smoothly

Now our on or about for our sale and purchase was April 1. Still no closing date for either. I feel like the lawyers and banks have moved so slowwww on this, our buyers too but theirs nothing we can do until they over the 30 days.

I feel like the tock is ticking and basically if we don't hear anything today I am assuming we'll need extensions or TOEs on both sides.

You should be on top of your attorney and your realtor to find out what is holding up scheduling the closing. Is there a title issue? Is the bank waiting on something? How close are you to getting the clear to close?

My recent experience has been that closing is usually scheduled 7 days out. You get the clear to close from the bank, which is normally the last step, and then they need 7 days to do disclosures, so that's the soonest you can schedule.

I think the "on or about" date could be anytime 30 days before and 30 days after the date. That's why we said "on or before" in our last contract and it still closed a week after the date - even though DH bugged everyone for 2 weeks to get them to set the date. We only found out about the final sales date a few days before it closed.

I know what the hold ups are. There's no way my attorney can push any. I am just hoping we are all cleared Wednesday and can still get scheduled for Friday, but I feel like it's cutting it close. If it's not Friday it will have to be next Thursday or Friday. I am away for business and everyone will just have to get over it.
