How long can I expect this to go on?

I'm 37 weeks, and for the last 3 days I've been having some REALLY painful contractions. They'll come in waves every few minutes, and then POOF, 45 minutes later, gone. And each day they get progressively more painful. Last night they woke me up at 3am and continued until 4am, and I really thought I'd have to wake up DH to go to the hospital, and then, yet again, they disappeared. I don't know how much more I can take of this! How much longer can this go on???? PLEASE someone give me hope!!

You are very, very close. I was the same way. I had an amazing pregnancy but that last month was the absolute worst. I am convinced that God makes it that uncomfortable and horrible to prepare you for delivery. I swear! Just think of it this way. My OB told me that any time I had a contraction, the baby will feel as though he/she is getting a hug. So everytime you get that contraction, you are giving your little one a hug and the more hugs you give that lil baby, the more eager that baby is to come and join you on the outside and before you know it, you will be holding her/he in your arms. Try and take it easy and just remember that it's only days before you see your precious little angel.

All the best to you.

You're very welcome! Chat Icon I know how tough it is. It's the worst. I used to get stuck in my couch and have to have my husband pull me out. I even needed help out of bed.Chat Icon

It has to be soon! I had contractions on and off for a few weeks, but they got bad about 1 week before I had the baby, would bet you'd have the baby within the next week or so!

Just think... if your contracting you could be dialating. Even if you go in 3 cm, its 3 less you have to do then.

Oh god, I hope so... it's not that I'm uncomfortable. Generally, I'm ok. It's just that the contractions are SOOOO painful when the come now. And, it's all in my back Chat Icon I don't think I have the energy to deal with this pain on a daily basis!
