How long did it take to loose the pregnancy weight?

Wondering what to do about a wedding I have about three months after I give birth. I know everyone is different, but I am just trying to get an idea of what to expect in general. With my DD years ago I remember looking in the mirror and thinking "WTH Why do I still look PG?" I did loose all the weight but I can't remember when I fit into my old clothing.

I have to be honest - this was a huge concern for me - and with eating well and working out moderately (its hard with a baby - I can only do it when he's asleep, which was and still is not that often, or when DH could babysit) it still is taking a while. I am 10 mts post partum, 5 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight (it took 10 mts to ge there) and still not fitting into some of my clothes that were loose on me because of the way my body changed....

I am going to wait to see if the last 5 lbs will help me get into my clothes. If not, I will have to try and lose more weight - but I think it will take a good 2 mts to get those 5 lbs off, and then a few more mts to lose anymore.

everyone told me it would take a full yr and I didn't believe them because I don't eat that much, but it really is true...

i'm just over 3 mos pp and can now fit into my bigger clothes, though they're a bit snug. i have 9 lbs to go, but i want to lose 16 to get to my optimum weight. i haven't really eaten in moderation b/c im breastfeeding so i take in extra calories, and i havent started exercising though i will start this week ( providing we get the treadmill) so i'd say maybe your biggest size by 3 mos or maybe 1 size larger....then again, there are people who fit into their clothes when they left the hospital.

i think it has to do w/csections also, i had a c and its taken a while for my stomach to deflate

I was in a wedding 4 months PP, and I gained 50+lbs. I think everyone is different, but by the time the wedding came i had lost all but 10-15lbs of my pg weight. I didn't feel like myself, but i was def smaller. i ordered my dress a couple sizes larger knowing i could alter it in and def order an empire waisted or a line dress, hides the belly and hips!

That last 10lbs is the absolute hardest to lose!!

I am 10 1/2 mo. pp and still have about 15-20 lbs left to lose. I also gained 50 lbs. though.

At 3mos PP, I had 10 lbs to go (and I was dieting since the day he was born and working out at 3wks PP). Some clothes fit, some still dont at 4 months PP...

For me i just think it was genetics, i lost it right away. Im not toned tho. Im almost 5m pp and havent started exercising yet. I wasnt really concerned with loosing the weight, i really would like to tone this belly up, but im too lazy to start.

I am 3 1/2 months PP and I lost the 30lbs of pregnancy weight plus 6 additional pounds. I started WW after I lost my pregnancy weight because I wasn't a swig to begin with. I BF so that helps with burning those extra calories each day.

I went to a wedding I think it was 2 or 3 months NO its was 1 month after having DS I wore a dress and a girtel ( ?Spelling) My belly still showed and one man even asked when I was due and I said I just had him 1 month ago ( he was the one that felt bad not me ) COme on now you just brought a person into this world Its going to take time to lose the weight, My DS is now 5 months and I have those last 10lbs to go. I wore a pre-pregnancy suit to DS's bris (I couldn't breathe but that is over rated anyway! ). The pounds dropped off me right away after having him due to breastfeeding. Once I stopped though, I gained a lot of weight back because I was still eating all the extra calories.
Also, don't forget about the magic of Spanx and/or a girtle (sp?)

I lost more then I had gained by 10 days PP....but my body was still swollen and I still have bigger hips and a bigger belly IMO 8 months PP.

Exactly - everyone is different so you really don't know. And your body changes too. I lost it all within 2 months I think, but my body didn't come back for another month or two after that.

9 months PP- 5lbs to go and that is just to reach my Pre Pg weight.

I slacked in the beginning...it was hard...eating out, busy!

Recently I started to eat better and hit the gym....weight has been coming off!

But yes....your body is different...for awhile.

ETA: I gained 30lbs

It took me 8 weeks to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. I gaied 45 lbs in pregnancy.

I lost 20 pounds within a couple weeks after delivering. Since then the weight has stopped--I have 17 pounds to go, and the weight is not budging. I really need to find time to exercise more.

Honestly, I would buy something that's similar in size to your maternity clothes (but not maternity). You can always have it taken in if it's too big. Or wait to buy something until shortly before the event.

I gained 50 pounds with my pregnancy and I went to a wedding a month after Jared was born. I wore a long black dress with a girdle underneath it.

I have to say, I didn't loose ALL the weight at that point, but I was able to fit into that dress and that was good enough for me.

In the first 3 weeks I lost like 25lbs. I was BFing and my not eating as much as I should have. After 2mth I lost the 30lbs I gained. When I returned back to work I gained some weight back hopefully now with exercise/walking I will get back down.

8 weeks pp, I have like 10 more lbs to lose..
but I fit into all of my pre preggo clothes.....

except my boobs never went back.. I have implants which are very large and they are even larger now if thats possible

I'm almost 10 months pp, and I still have about 20 to lose. I just started trying last month though!
