how long did u stay home after birth?

Hi all,

I am a newbie around here and loving everybody's wisdom and support.

DH and I were trying for an early summer due date, obviously that window is closing. We are trying one more month and we were going to stop. I teach at University and it is very hard for me to take off during the regular semester unless I go off on sabbatical and frankly we are not really in a financial position for me to take off an entire semester at no pay. With only one shot left at summer due date, which btw would only giv me 2 weeks home, we have been discussing if we hav to wait until next year of if we hav other options.

please I am so upset..can u please tell me if anyone here has ever given birth and gone right back to work? I guess I could take a week off during the year and hav my mother come stay with us when i have to go in a lecture and thats if there are no complications..

can u please share with me how long u stayed home after birth? Did anyone go back right away? was it torture to leave the baby so quick? was it hard on u? any advice about what we should do?

I see that you are new.... so I figured I would let you know...

There is a pregnancy board, and also a parenting board.

You might yield better results posting this type of question on one of those boards, rather than the TTC board.

There's a ton of forums on here. It can get hectic!! But sure kills some time too!!!

You don't get standard maternity time or disability? I am just shocked bc most companies and schools offer that!

sorry for delayed post...i can get leave but it is unpaid and disability is kinda a joke financially...my problem is i will be starting a new position and cannot take a whole semester off the first year there....we were really hoping to get get BFP the past few months so we could have a summer due date...

i guess i am just really depressed because this means we need to wait a whole nother year to try again...
