Re: How long did you wait to make a bid for your house???

1st bid we made was 1.)after we saw the house twice- always go to see the house more than once and 2.)about two weeks after seeing it for the first time (actually the night of the second showing we made the bid)

the final bid was made a month after that

Re: How long did you wait to make a bid for your house???

we didn't wait at all. we had been in the market long enough to know what was out there and for what price. when we saw our house...we made a full price offer immediately. Got the call thirty minutes later that our offer was accepted. Good thing we made the offer immediately b/c at closing we found out that there were three other offers on the house when we put ours in. If you've been in the market a while, you will just know a good house when you see one. We knew we had to move fast on our house or we would have missed out. If we would have waited to see it again, it would have been in contract already.

Kath, don't rush, just take your time to see what is out there. if it's meant to be, it will happen. we lost one house i was in love with, was devastated when we didn't get it, but then three weeks later we found this house and we are much happier!!!

We saw the house 2x (took the family the 2nd time), put in a bid right after we saw it the 2nd time; offer was rejected; then put in our final bid a month later; again it was rejected; owners came back a month later and accepted our final bidChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

After visiting the house a second time (usually within a week of the first visit), we made the offer within a few hours of returning home from the 2nd visit.

Made the bid 1/2 hour after we saw the house for the first time. We just knew what we wanted and what we were willing to spend.

We saw it a month before for $40,000 more and said "No Thank You". We looked at it a second time after it came down in price and made the offer out on the sidewalk.

We made our first offer immediately and it was countered. We made our second offer the next morning and it was accepted at the end of the day.

We had a good idea of what was out there and the house we bought was a great deal for the area.

Re: How long did you wait to make a bid for your house???

A few hours after seeing it.

We spent the day with our realtor and saw about 6 houses. "Our" house was first and none of the other houses could compare. After we saw the last house, we asked our realtor to put in an offer.

We followed him down rte 454 and he actually had us pull over to tell us the offer was accepted.

There is really no correct timeline. The house that is meant for you will happen no matter what.
