How long did your baby teethe before the first tooth emerged? Did this happen to you?

I swear DS is teething. He is drooling like crazy and is psychotically chewing on his fist. He is now chewing on my breasts at feedings. He is also so irritable. He doesn't stop rubbing his face and head either. Could he already be teething at 3 months?? Is this a possible weird growth spurt? He will only sleep clenched on my nipple.

I opened the baby's first year book and it says that some babies can teethe starting in the third month, and teethe for months? WHAAAATTTT?????? (If you watch 'Ellen' you can understand the inflection. ) Is that book serious? What is DS going through?? TIA!!!!

DD was teething on and off starting at 4 months. She did not get her first tooth until 15 months.


Yes, i said 15 months. Like I said, she wasn't teethign every day, but at least a few days a month. She's almost 2 and only has 8 teeth

Ok, first of all, you are cracking me up with the "WHATTTTTT?"- because when I was on maternity leave, all I did was watch Ellen, so I totally understand what you are talking about!

Secondly, Kaitlyn is drooling up a storm too, AND chewing furiously on her hands as well. She showed no intrest in the binky for a while, but is back at it again, so I'm wondering if she is starting to teethe also!

Jack started teething right before 3 months. It has been hellish now for the past two weeks. I am praying for a tooth to break through to give us both some relief!

If you notice he is in alot of pain you can give him tylenol. It def. helps!

My son started at 2 1/2 months....really badly too...he is now 6 months, and still no sign of a tooth...some babies just have a harder time than others....

Cailen began doing that before he was 2 mts old.... He is now 7.5 mts old and not a tooth in sight - and he is still drooling and chewing on everythign!!!

My DD had drooly and chewy periods on and off before an actual tooth came through.

For at least a week before the first tooth came through at 8 months old, it was bloody h3ll. She was crabby, waking at night, didn't want to eat, diaper rash, diarrhea, fever, etc. Not all kids are the same, though, hopefully it's not that bad for you.

DD started teething around 3 months or so...she did not get a tooth until about 10 months. She wasn't teething everyday...but as another poster said, a few days a week/month. She is 14 months now...and has 6 teeth.

DS started teething at 11 weeks, he got two teeth at about 6 months.
